Beowulf

We disscussed the difference between a good hero, and a good king. So what exactly is a hero? Someone who is strong? Someone who is smart? How about skilled, noble, and perfect Fabio-esk hair, or maybe just some big ol' brains? If some, or even any of these qualities describe what a hero is, then what is an epic EPIC hero? Are they more skilled, and even stronger? The point was brought up that an epic hero would be remembered forever. If what describes an epic hero is going down in the history books(or in this case a story that no one in there right mind can make any sense of without reading spark notes right after they read), then i believe Beowulf is and always will be the poster child for epic heros. He has courage, pride, skill, and even though we are unsure of his motives at times, he often seems selfless. Beowulf describes almost flawlessly what we descibe as our "perfect hero".
